Quantum Nostalgia

The street there by the park downtown
For all I care this could be the last round
You were there from a ways out of bounds
In case you cared you were the best I've ever found

Pacing around the room
What else could I do?
Playing around with you
Acting the damn fool
When you looked in my eyes
You opened up a vein
I bled all over the page
To sound a cool refrain
I bled all over the page
To play the tune again
Wandering through the woods
Me and my brother, too
We heard the timberwolves
Making a fresh kill
When you looked in my eyes
You opened up a vein
I bled all over the page
To sound a fool's refrain
I bled all over the page
To play the tune again

Burned Out Star
02:59
|
|||
When I saw you it wasn't real
In a movie or something
You looked like Batman
Real thrill seeker
Hanging on the edge
If an eight story parking ramp
You're drinking again
Burned out star
Least I'll come
Burned out star
Least I'll come
When I saw you it wasn't real
In a movie or something
Hanging on the edge
Burned out star
Here I come

One more time, Oh Oh
Baby, if you could read my mind,
You'd be one step ahead of me !!!

Street Sweeper
03:06
|

Street sweeper on a Wednesday morning
I can take you a long way home
It's just a violent fantasy
I can take you a long way home
Sweeping on a Wednesday morning
I can take you a long way home
It's just a holy hand grenade
I can take you a long way home
Street sweeper on a Wednesday morning
I can take you a long way home
From all you accolades
I can take you a long way home
It's just a violent fantasy

Crimes
04:15
|
|||
You buried the past
After you dumped the body
You thought that life could last
After your love was gone
All of your crime forgiven you
All of your sins gone, gone
All of your doubt forgotten
All of your pain removed

Pigeon Park
02:26
|

I wish you'd take hope
Me and fifteen hundred songs that sound the same
Just like this one, again
Wish you'd take hope
Me and fifteen hundred songs that sound the same
On a rooftop in the rain
Watch the pigeons fly from pigeon park
Where everybody lies after dark
I need a savior to wash away my pain
I need a favor, again
I wish you'd take hope
Me and fifteen hundred songs that sound the same
Just like this one

Daylights

When you come home
I'm not sure where I'll go
You put me on my back
You kiss the living daylights out of me

Middle of the Crowd
02:02
|
|||
Don't stop now
Keep on thrashing in the middle of the crowd
All I do is spit it until they can figure out
All she did was witness in the middle of a drought
Questioning my fitness
When you drive it underground
All you've done is hide it in the middle of the town
I know that you're strident but I cannot make a sound
Until I'm a giant
If you think that I'm a clown
I think you're compliant
If you're trying to be a star
You're never gonna get that far
If you won't stop trying to pretend
You're never gonna reach the end
Don't quit now
Keep on, keep on
Middle of the drought
All they do is spin it and I cannot figure out
Why I'm so conflicted
If you think that I'm a scout
Sorry I'm addicted
When there's no cocaine, and no Jesus
How you gonna stay at the Four Seasons
Without any pain?
What are your reasons?
How you gonna play?
Break into pieces
Trying to be a star
You're never gonna get that far
Nothing but blue skies
Nothing but blue
Trying to be a star
You're never gonna get that far
Trying for blue skies
Trying for blue

Hometown
05:54
|
|||
It's the same familiar face
Vague as it may be, the same
In the same recurring dream
I'm high again, there's no way to flee the scene
I'm hiding
Behind a bottle of booze
And all the people I use
Then wake up from the dream
It's haunting but I'm used to it
And no one's jumping ship
We wake up happy
Hometown
But everybody changed
Still here
Just wandering the trails
Old souls
You're already washed-up
At thirty-three
You're already washed-up
La la la
La la la
I'm on my way
I'm on my way
It's the same familiar scene
Vague as it may be
A dream
With the same forgiving face
You left your prints at the scene then slipped away
You're hiding
And it's almost Halloween
Quit saying all the right things
And go home early
Its okay cause you're used to it
And no one's ever bit
Hometown
Where everybody changed
Still here
Just wandering the trails
Old souls
You're already washed-up
At thirty-three
You're already washed-up
Hometown
Hometown
Hometown
Where everybody changed

Wildcat Hawkins Eau Claire, Wisconsin
Music is spiritual to me.
I write a lot of sad songs, but I hope they help listeners to process their own
suffering through an artistic experience. I don't believe that escape is desirable or possible. Coping with challenges and accepting reality while pursuing self care and loving others leads to happiness.
These albums offer very different yet complementary experiences. I hope you enjoy them.
